Products / THE PRACTICAL CHECKLIST
Product reviews
Read beyond the average. A useful product review explains the exact item, the task it performed, and the conditions behind the result.
What to look for
Begin with your essential requirements. A reviewer’s enthusiasm is relevant only when it concerns the qualities you need. Keep owner impressions separate from specifications and measured tests so a claim about one does not silently become evidence for another.
Make the review useful
Choose a positive, a mixed, and a critical account of the same configuration. Record the observation each one supports and the next question it raises. Verify the expensive uncertainties with a different kind of evidence, such as documentation or a controlled demonstration.
Keep the limits in view
Do not turn a small reading sample into an invented confidence percentage. Explain what is supported, what is mixed, and what remains unknown. A purchase can still be sensible when its limits are understood.
Does a high average settle the decision?
No. It does not tell you whether the reviews concern your exact configuration or the requirements that matter to you. Use the average to begin a closer examination, not to replace one.

Car reviews
Use car reviews to prepare better questions about a specific vehicle, not to replace a test drive, records check, or appropriate independent inspection.
