Software & SEO / THE PRACTICAL CHECKLIST

Product review SEO

Start with a clear review question and supported evidence. Metadata and structured data should describe the page, not invent authority.

What to look for

State whether the page contains hands-on testing, documentation research, or an evaluation method. Explain conditions and limitations. A research guide can be valuable without pretending to be a tested product review.

Make the review useful

Use a distinct title, logical headings, descriptive links, and images that actually support the subject. Choose structured data appropriate to the visible content and verify review-snippet eligibility with the official documentation.

Keep the limits in view

Do not create a rating simply because a page uses the word review. A category guide is not automatically a review of a specific item, and valid markup is not a promise of a rich result.

Does a review guide need rating schema?

No. An article or webpage description may be the appropriate choice when the page explains review methods rather than presenting a supported review of a specific eligible item.
