Marketplaces / THE PRACTICAL CHECKLIST

Online marketplace reviews

Compare the product, the merchant, and the platform’s role without blending them into a single verdict.

What to look for

Identify who is selling, who handles delivery, and where a problem should be taken. Review comments can refer to different parts of this chain. A delivery complaint, product defect, and dispute-resolution account should remain distinct in your notes.

Make the review useful

Use an evidence ledger with separate rows for listing accuracy, condition, communication, and resolution. Check whether each account matches your country, purchase type, and relevant terms before using it to support a conclusion.

Keep the limits in view

Do not average scores from unrelated platforms or mistake repeated copies of one testimonial for independent evidence. A useful comparison explains the available context rather than creating a new number that looks more authoritative than its inputs.

Should I combine marketplace ratings into one score?

Not without a defensible method and comparable data. For a personal decision, a written summary of separate risks is usually more transparent than a new aggregate number.
